The 7th Annual Hack & Slash
Christmas Special the Musical!

The 7th Annual Hack and Slash Christmas Special the Musical is coming soon and this! This page gives you all the details you need in order to take part in this crazy, gala event and quite frankly laugh your butt off for two hours straight!

New Performance Date Added!

Seats have been selling quickly so we've decided to add a matinee on Sunday, December 9th! This means one more chance to see the show, lots more great seats, and another opportunity to bring in money for Make-a-Wish! By coincidence, December 9th is also the 15-year-anniversary of the first Hack and Slash show, so we'll have some extra fun stuff planned for that performance. We hope you can make it because it’s going to be a hoot!

What  is the Hack and Slash Christmas Special?

Once upon a time Hack and Slash thought it would be funny to do a Christmas Special in the middle of October, as a joke. Years later we're selling out a big theatre and producing a real, honest-to-goodness musical! It's been great fun and those of you who come every year or have the DVD of the first year we did the musical know why. We've based the show on Charles Dickens' classic tale, "A Christmas Carol" and included many of our funniest and most talented friends in what amounts to the wildest, coolest, craziest show you'll see all year!

The original musical score was written by Maia Rodriguez (who composed for Disney and sang for Cirque Du Soleil) and it's amazing! This year's show will include a new Christmas Future song and a new solo for Ebenezer Hack by Maia. Listen to Slash's interview with Hack and Maia Rodriguez

Who  is in the show?

We are busting with excitement over the group of performers we have this year! Watch this page for downloadable interviews with these folks very soon!

Christmas Past will be played by comedy magician Dave Cox. Dave is a regular at the Magic Castle in Hollywood and is one of the funniest in the business. He is also quite a singer. We'll chat with Dave about his sordid musical past, how he met Slash and the Evil Hypnotist Monkey in his up and coming interview (see below).

The shoes of Christmas Present will be filled by two powerhouses of insanity and fun. If you are a die-hard Renaissance Festival follower then you already know that the Washing Well Wenches are among the best shows out there and we've got two of the funniest for this year's production! Ruby and Poppy are good friends of Hack and Slash and we have plans for a lot of mischief with them, so hold on to your socks!

Christmas future will see the return of Broon, but this time with his partner in crime Moonie! This duo has been wowing audiences for years at festivals and theatres all up and down the west coast and now you can see them perform their all new, irreverent and off the wall comedy at this year's special.

Also look for possible special guest appearances by past special favorites including our Stagehand Ninja's, The Pickled Punks, Michael Rosman, Renaissance Man, and possibly a visit by a certain obscure children's book author. We'll be coming out with this year's interviews as a Podcast so all you iJunkies get ready for a free-download fix.

When  is it?

Now, there are THREE GREAT NIGHTS to choose from! Last year we sold out both nights, so grab your tickets! Friday December 7th, and Saturday December 8th at 8pm. Plus, we've added a matinee performance at 3pm on Sunday, December 9th. That Sunday will be Hack and Slash's Fifteen-year-anniversary, so we are planning some fun surprises for the show that afternoon!

Why  do you do this?

We are very proud to say that the performers who invest their time in this fun project are doing it all to support a great cause. A portion of the profits from last year's show was be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation to help fulfill the dreams of kids who are ill. Thanks for your support of such a wonderful organization. We'd also like to thank Make-a-Wish for their friendly and enthusiastic support of our show! This year we will again be donating to a worthy charity.

Read about Sara, our wish kid from last year, in This Week's Episode. Thanks to everyone who helped make her wish come true!

What  should I wear?

It is traditional at all Hack and Slash Christmas Specials that the audience wear pajamas. If you sleep in the nude, hey that's your call, but we suggest the local Target for some warm flannel p.j.'s and big slippers!
